North Atlantic Industries (NAI), a leading provider of rugged embedded computing solutions, announces the launch of the TN1 Ethernet Switched Endpoint (TSN-SE) Function Module. Designed for mission-critical aerospace, defense, and industrial applications, the TN1 module delivers deterministic, real-time Ethernet communications while seamlessly integrating with NAI’s Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®) ecosystem.
The TN1 Function Module is a Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) Ethernet endpoint, designed for high-precision, reliable connectivity in mission-critical systems. Leveraging the AMD Zynq™ UltraScale+ SoC and DornerWorks TSN FPGA IP (100% US developed), the TN1 enables deterministic, real-time Ethernet communication with minimal impact on host processor resources. The TN1 FPGA-based network adapter supports TSN and UDP protocols and is engineered to meet DO-178 and DO-254 safety certification objectives, ensuring dependable data routing in safety-critical applications.
With its flexible and scalable architecture, the TN1 module is ideal for avionics and flight control, autonomous, robotic, and unmanned vehicle systems, situational awareness, and data synchronization applications. As TSN-based digital backbones gain adoption across industries, the TN1 module delivers low-latency, high-precision and deterministic data transmission – making it a critical component for next-generation defense systems.
