North Atlantic Industries (NAI), a leader in rugged embedded computing solutions, announces the release of its VPX68S 600-Watt DC/DC Converter, a high-efficiency, SOSA™-aligned power supply designed for aerospace, defense, and industrial mission-critical platforms. Built in a 3U VPX form factor, the VPX68S accepts a +28 VDC input and integrates seamlessly into conduction-cooled VPX systems as an off-the-shelf power solution.

Engineered to support modern open-architecture systems, the VPX68S delivers up to 600 Watts of power through two SOSA™-aligned outputs with associated I/O. Optional integrated holdup time and current-share capabilities enhance system-level resilience and scalability, while standard VPX-compatible connectors simplify integration into new or existing VPX backplanes.

“Reliable power is foundational to every mission-critical system,” said Lino Massafra, VP of Sales and Marketing at NAI. “The VPX68S delivers the efficiency, ruggedization, and standards alignment our customers require, while offering optional holdup time of up to 400 Watts to support graceful operation during power interruptions. Combined with intelligent monitoring and protection features, it provides a robust solution for SOSA™-aligned VPX platforms.”

For advanced system monitoring and control, the VPX68S includes comprehensive protection against input transients, over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit conditions. It meets stringent environmental and electromagnetic compatibility requirements, including input transient protection per MIL-STD-704F and MIL-STD-1275E, integrated EMI filtering per MIL-STD-461F, and environmental compliance per MIL-STD-810 and VITA 47. The unit operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable performance in demanding deployed conditions.

The VPX68S provides a rugged, standards-aligned VPX power solution that simplifies integration, enhances system resilience, and delivers dependable power for mission-critical electronics. It is available as part of NAI’s SOSA™-aligned VPX power solutions portfolio, supporting rapid system integration and long-term program stability.
